That’s one of the things that you want to perfect, you want to become a master asker, you want to discover exactly where people are in their world so that you can bring a solution to the table.

How Can I Get Into Real Estate Investing?

Hi, it’s Lou Brown. People asked me, How can I get into real estate investing? You know, it’s an interesting question. It’s a very broad based question, because the answer really is that you can start right now, you can start knocking on the doors in your neighborhood, you can say, hey, I’m looking to own a house in this neighborhood, do you know of any for sale, and, or another house in this neighborhood, obviously, because it’s your neighborhood. 

My point is that within close proximity to your home, usually within five miles of your home, you can build an amazing business, and the cool thing is that you have the opportunity to just literally park your car, knock on doors, ask people do you know anyone that has a house for sale, do you know anyone that might be wanting to sell in the near future, and just making that connection. Now, once we make that connection, we make a presentation. 

So once I’m talking to a seller, I’ve already done my homework in advance, and then I visit with the seller and make a full blown presentation to them, telling them who we are, what we do, how we operate, how we can help how we’re different than everybody else that does buy houses, and how we can help them how we can solve their problems, and how we can give them exactly what they need to make this deal work for them. 

So it’s a very consultative approach, but it’s also a very educational approach to educate the seller on what we do and how we do it, and how they can actually exit their property a lot easier than is the typical approach to being able to list a property and sell it the traditional way. So my answer is that you can start your business right now, right where you are. You also can advertise on Craigslist, you can start getting leads come in. My advice is, don’t just freewheel. This, this is something that, you know, our typical real estate transaction, we’re going to make $30,000 if we don’t take that lightly. And we don’t come into it without the education to do it. So I am going to encourage you to get some education, don’t just go out there and free wheeling, but get a bit of education behind you. Now I do have an event. It’s called millionaire jumpstart. Well, so many people get stopped investing in real estate simply because they think they’ve got to have access to a ton of money, and that it’s all about having that financing in place and being able to qualify for loans at the bank. What if I told you that’s absolutely not true, and the way that I buy my properties is to work with the sellers.

Now you got to have the right skills, you got to have the right what I call magic words, but the thing to know is that absolutely, it can work for you, you do not have to go to banks, you do not have to qualify for loans.
